Magic on the Move: Katherine Hepburn Cultural Arts Center

On October 9, 2026, Lyn will perform two shows at the Katherine Hepburn Cultural Arts Center located at 300 Main Street, Old Saybrook, CT 06475: 9:30 am and 11:30 am.
Through the generosity of their funders and donors, the Kate’s Classroom Connections programs are offered free of charge (some restrictions on the quantity of student tickets per show may apply). The Kate’s Classroom Connections program is generously supported by The Community Foundation of Middlesex County, The George A. and Grace L. Long Foundation, The Dominion Energy Charitable Foundation, individual donors to the Kate, and with the support of the Department of Economic and Community Development, Office of the Arts.

Your Vote is Magic Performed by Master Illusionist Lyn Dillies
October 9, 2026 | 9:30 am and 11:30 am
In 2008, Lyn originated a one-woman public service campaign and voter rally in New Bedford, Massachusetts, to get people interested in voting. For the finale of the event, and for the first time in history, Lyn produced the two live mascots –out of thin air! Yes, a donkey and an elephant! The illusion made the national news and helped pave the way for the second phase of Lyn’s vision and mission. She created “Your Vote is Magic,” which is a visual civics lesson designed to teach and inspire future voters in grades 5-12. Empowering and educational, her presentation magically weaves a sense of wonder with a sense of civic responsibility. This is a unique resource for civic groups, libraries, educators, and parents.
